10am– The 10k starts

11am– Trophy and prize presentation

12pm – Event Village close

The Event Village is in the Charles Wilson Building, University Road, LE1 7RH.

It’s where you can have your registration queries answered, drop your bags off, use the toilets/changing facilities or buy food and drink.

There will also be an information point in Victoria Park, near the University Campus.

The 10k is open to everyone over the age of 16.

It’s a race that attracts local runners, including university students, club runners and fun runners. If you are a wheelchair user or have any accessibility requirements and would like to take part, contact us on townandgown10k@musculardystrophyuk.org and we’ll make the necessary arrangements.

All running bibs and packs will be on the day collection only from the Charles Wilson Building, University Road, LE1 7RH. They will be available to collect on race day from 8am.

If you give us your mobile number on entry, you’ll get an SMS with your chip-time shortly after you finish the race. All chip-timed results will be available on www.chiptiming.co.uk after the event.

You can transfer your place to someone else, and there’s an admin fee of £5 per transfer. The deadline to transfer your place to someone else is Tuesday 6 February 2018. It won’t be possible to transfer your place after this date.

The Town and Gown 10k raises vital funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK. So while fundraising is not compulsory, we encourage all runners to fundraise what they can to help beat muscle-wasting conditions sooner. Visit our fundraising pages for hints and tips, and to set up an online giving page.

Yes we have a baggage store in the Charles Wilson building where your item will be stored in order of your runner number.

We have limited space available so please bring small bags when possible. There is a suggested donation of £1 for storing an item and of course all donations will go towards our fight against muscle-wasting conditions.

The University of Leicester Cafe Delicious will be open from 8am until 12.30pm. You can find this between the Charles Wilson Sports Hall and the event start/finish. Water will be provided on the route and at the finish.

Once you’ve finished the race, we’ll give you a goody bag with a medal, a brag-worthy finisher Tshirt (sizes subject to availability) and some free product samples.

There will not be any parking available at the University of Leicester.

If you are travelling by car, use the local NCPs and parking around Victoria Park. If you can, walk, or travel by public transport.

On the day, there will be trophies for the following categories:

Open prizes: first, second and third male and female

Male age group prizes: ages categories 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+

Female age group prizes: ages categories 35-44, 45-54, 55-64 and 65+

Should you qualify for an Open and an age group trophy, the greater value prize will be awarded to you. The other prize will be offered to the next finisher.
